A Spring Hike in Meteora

Last weekend, as spring unfolded across Greece, I made my way to Kastraki for a small hike around one of the most unique geological areas of central Greece: the rock formations of Meteora (Μετέωρα). The 6km loop took us through a deciduous Oak forest—still bare of leaves, but blooming with wildflowers—and over the surrounding hills to admire the stunning views of the Pindos mountains, the Thessalian plain, and the architectural marvel of the monasteries built into the rock pillars.
